We are very proud of the high artistic criteria we set, which the competitors successfully met. INTRODUCTION

Dear visitors, it is our pleasure to greet you on behalf of the Organising Committee of the "Orfej" Classical Music Festival. We are happy to invite you to be a part of the first edition of the "Accordeus" Online Music Competition, open for accordion soloists and chamber ensembles. 
The application is simple and it is done directly via the form available on our official website. The deadline for applications is the 16th of May, 2021. The competition is open to all primary and secondary school students from any part of the world. 
In addition to the official diplomas and cash prizes, the six Laureates of the "Accordeus" Online Music Competition, will be invited to perform live at the "Orfej" Classical Music Festival in November 2021, which will take place in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The travel and accommodation costs are covered by us!
Therefore: grab your instruments, put your scores on the stands, listen to your mentors and make music.
Thanks to all competitors who submitted the application! The results were announced on May 24, 2021.

THE RULEBOOK
OF THE COMPETITION

Article 1

The Citizens’ Association “CreArt” is organizing the “Accordeus” Online Music Competition for soloists on accordion, and for chamber ensembles, as a part of the “Orfej” Classical Music Festival.

 

Article 2

The Competition is open to all primary and secondary school students.

 

Article 3

The Competition, structured by categories, will take place in accordance with the Propositions. Accordion soloists must perform their programme by heart, while the chamber ensembles are not obliged to perform theirs by heart.

 

Article 4

The work of the Jury is regulated by a special Rulebook for the Jury.

 

Article 5

The competitors must register by the 16th of May, 2021. To participate in the Competition, it is necessary to fill in the online application.

 

Article 6

The videos of the competitors must clearly show their instrument, face, and hands of the accordion soloist or members of the chamber ensemble. Interruption of the video, editing, or playback is not allowed. The recordings which do not meet the given conditions will be returned alongside the request that a new one should be submitted by the 16th of May, 2021. Videos of the category Laureates will be published on the website and YouTube channel of the “Orfej” Classical Music Festival (festivalorfej.com).

 

Article 7

The registration fee is 10 Euros. In the Chamber Music category, the registration fee is 10 Euros per member of the ensemble.

 

Article 8

The registration fee is not refunded to the competitors in case they cancel the participation in the Competition.

 

Article 9

The competitors are awarded diplomas, certificates of appreciation, and awards according to the following principle:

  • From 90 to 100 points – first prize;

  • From 80 to 89,99 points – second prize;

  • From 70 to 79,99 points – third prize;

  • From 0 to 69,99 points – a thank-you note for participating.

The number of prizes is not limited.

 

Article 10

All of the Laureates receive a diploma and a cash prize. If more competitors qualify for the title of category Laureate with the same number of points, the advantage is given to the younger competitor.

 

Article 11

The Organising Committee of the “Orfej” Classical Music Festival will provide other prizes, in addition to the diplomas and cash prizes, to the Laureates of each category.

Article 12

The results of the Competition will be published on the website of the “Orfej” Classical Music Festival on the 24th of May, 2021 (festivalorfej.com).

 

Article 13

By taking part in the Competition, all competitors automatically waive their rights to any form of compensation in case of possible publication and distribution of their videos.

 

Article 14

By submitting the application, the competitors, together with their parent or guardian, confirm they accept the terms and conditions of the Competition.

Accordion

I CATEGORY


Age of competitors: born in 2009 and younger
Programme: a minimum of two compositions of different characters and authors of own choice
Programme duration: up to 5 minutes

II CATEGORY


Age of competitors: born in 2006 and younger
Programme: a minimum of two compositions of different characters and authors of own choice
Programme duration: up to 8 minutes

III CATEGORY


Age of competitors: born in 2004 and younger
Programme: a minimum of two compositions of different characters and authors of own choice
Programme duration: up to 12 minutes

IV CATEGORY


Age of competitors: born in 2002 and younger
Programme: a minimum of two compositions of different characters and authors of own choice
Programme duration: up to 18 minutes

Chamber Music

I CATEGORY


Age of competitors: born in 2006 and younger
Programme: a minimum of two compositions of different characters and authors of own choice
Programme duration: up to 10 minutes

II CATEGORY


Age of competitors: born in 2002 and younger
Programme: a minimum of two compositions of different characters and authors of own choice
Programme duration: up to 15 minutes

No more than nine performers can perform in the chamber ensembles.

There are no restrictions in terms of the instruments participating in the ensemble.

THE RULEBOOK FOR THE JURY

Article 1

The members of the Jury are elected by the Organising Committee of the “Orfej” Classical Music Festival.

 

Article 2

The President of the Jury is elected by the Organising Committee of the “Orfej” Classical Music Festival.

 

Article 3

The Jury consists of five members.

 

Article 4

A member of the Jury does not have the right to judge a competitor to whom they are a professor or with whom they are related.

 

Article 5

The President of the Jury is obliged to:

  • determine the compliance of the competitor’s programme with the Propositions;

  • give the proposal of participants who will perform at one of the concerts within the “Orfej” Classical Music Festival (11, 12, and 13 November 2021, Bosnia and Herzegovina) to the Organising Committee of the “Orfej” Classical Music Festival after the end of the Competition;

  • monitor whether the evaluation of Jury members is carried out according to the Rulebook for the Jury, and to intervene promptly in case of deviations or irregularities.

 

Article 6

Jury members are obliged to:

  • evaluate the competitor according to the Rulebook for the Jury;

  • enter their grades in an appropriate manner or according to an agreed model;

  • participate in the work of the Jury for the category they listened to;

  • intervene through the President of the Jury in cases of noticing irregularities in the work and deviations from the Rulebook for the Jury.

 

Article 7

The President of the Organising Committee of the “Orfej” Classical Music Festival is obliged to introduce the Rulebook of the Competition, Propositions, and the Rulebook for the Jury to the members of the Jury.

 

Article 8

The Vice President of the Organising Committee of the “Orfej” Classical Music Festival is obliged to:

  • collect the completed evaluation forms from all of the Jury members, immediately upon their completion;

  • fill in the points list based on the evaluation forms for all of the Jury members;

  • inform the President of the Jury and the Organising Committee of the “Orfej” Classical Music Festival if there are any irregularities.

 

Article 9

The documents that are kept about the performance of each competitor are:

An Evaluation form, which contains:

  • Ordinal number, first name, and last name of the competitor;

  • Category and age of the competitor;

  • Number of points;

  • A place for possible notes;

  • A place for the signature of the Jury member.

The Points list, which contains:

  • Ordinal number, first name, and last name of the competitor;

  • Category and age of the competitor;

  • Number of points given by each member of the Jury;

  • The overall point average;

  • The prize that was won;

  • A place for the signature of the President of the Jury, members of the Jury, and the Vice President of the Organising Committee of the “Orfej” Classical Music Festival.

Article 10

Jury members evaluate the competitors with points as follows:

  • From 90 to 100 points – first prize;

  • From 80 to 89,99 points – second prize;

  • From 70 to 79,99 points – third prize;

  • From 0 to 69,99 points - a thank-you note for participating.

 

Article 11

The ranking of the competitors is determined by the Vice President of the Organising Committee of the “Orfej” Classical Music Festival. He will collect points from all the members of the Jury and divide their sum by the number of members of the Jury.

 

Article 12

The competitors are ranked according to the number of points. The prizes are awarded in each category according to the scoring scale.

 

Article 13

At the end of the Competition, the Jury announces the Laureate of each category.

 

Article 14

The decisions of the Jury are final and irrevocable.

Jury Members

VANJA ALBIJANIĆ (Bosnia and Herzegovina)
President of the Jury

Vanja Albijanić was born on the 19th of October, 1992, in Foča. After completing primary and primary music education as the best student of her generation, she continued secondary music education in East Sarajevo in 2007. During the four-year education, she participated in various competitions at the republic and international level where she achieved noticeable results. As a student of the generation, she finished secondary school, and in 2011 she became a student of the University of East Sarajevo᾽s Academy of Music, at the Department of Vocal and Instrumental studies – Accordion performance in the class of professor Dražan Kosorić. She graduated on the 1st of July, 2015, with an average grade of 9.95, and as of the 15th of July 2017, she holds the title of a Master of Arts in Accordion with an average grade of 10.00.

Up until today, she has won over 30 awards for her participation in competitions in chamber music categories, but also as an accordion soloist at the republic, state, international, and world level. She was named the best student of the Second cycle of studies in the Republic of Srpska by the Ministry of Science and Technology ("Dr Milan Jelić" Foundation) in the academic year of 2015/2016.

She recently obtained her second Master᾽s Degree from the University of Banja Luka᾽s Academy of Arts – in the field of chamber music, where she was in the class of professor Biljana Jašić Radovanović.

NIKOLA PANTELIĆ (Serbia)
Member of the Jury

Nikola Pantelić, MA of Accordion Performance, was born in Šabac (Serbia) in 1995. He completed primary music education in the class of professor Mikica Jevtić, and graduated from the Secondary Music School "Mihailo Vukdragović" in Šabac, in the class of professor Vojin Lazić. He completed his Bachelor᾽s and Master᾽s studies of accordion at the University of East Sarajevo᾽s Academy of Music, in the class of professor Rade Radović.

 

During his studies, he was the Ministry of Scientific and Technological Development, High Education and Information Society of the Republic of Srpska, as well as the "Dr Milan Jelić" Foundation scholarship holder. In addition to his formal education, he attended masterclasses with significant pedagogues and concertmasters on accordion. In addition to numerous performances at concerts and events, he won many prestigious awards at competitions in the country and abroad as a soloist, member of "Accordeus" Accordion Quintet, Accordion Orchestra of the University of East Sarajevo᾽s Academy of Music, and Chamber choir of the Department for Church Music and Chanting. In 2017 he started his pedagogical career as an accordion and piano teacher in the "Avdo Smailović" Primary Music School in Goražde (Bosnia and Herzegovina).

 

Since 2020 he has been employed as an accordion teacher in "Teodor Toša Andrejević" Primary Music School in Ruma (Serbia).

MILJANA ĐUROVIĆ (Serbia)
Member of the Jury

Miljana Đurović (Vršac, Serbia, 29 August 1996) received her music education at the "Josif Marinković" school in Vršac, and she had the longest collaboration with professors Radenka Ristić and Marko Stojanović. She enrolled at the University of East Sarajevo᾽s Academy of Music in the class of Danijela Rakić in 2014, and from 2017 she continued her education at the Faculty of Philology and Arts of the University of Kragujevac in the class of Vladimir Blagojević, where she completed her Bachelor᾽s, and then Master᾽s studies (2019). During her Master᾽s studies, she was the Youth Foundation of the Republic of Serbia and the company "ManpowerGroup" scholarship holder. She spent her third semester of the academic year 2015/2016 in Belgorod (Russian Federation) at the Institute of Arts and Culture, as a participant in a student exchange program. During the studies, she performed as a soloist, a member of chamber ensembles and orchestras in numerous concerts, events, competitions, both in her country and abroad.

 

As her favorite recognitions, she singles out the first places in the Student Category at the 8th International Accordion Festival "AKORDEON ART" in East Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina (2017) and 11th International Accordion Competition "PannoniAccordion" in Murska Sobota, Slovenia (2018). She is an active member of the Kragujevac Academic Accordion Orchestra (Serbia), which, since it was founded, won First Place on 43rd International Meeting of Accordionists in Pula (Croatia) and held concerts in the Foundation of Ilija M. Kolarac in Belgrade (2018, 2019).

 

She has been working in the music school in her hometown since September 2019.

MILICA STEFANOVIĆ (Montenegro)
Member of the Jury

Milica Stefanović was born in Cetinje (Montenegro), where she started her music education and completed Primary Music School in the Accordion Department. She completed Secondary Music School in Podgorica, and Bachelor and Master studies at the University of East Sarajevo᾽s Academy of Music, in the class of professor Danijela Gazdić.

 

During her studies, she specialised in solo performance, however, she excelled as a chamber musician as well. She is currently working as a music pedagogue.

STEFAN ĆEHA (Montenegro)
Member of the Jury

Stefan Ćeha, a graduated music artist – accordionist, was born on the 22nd of December, 1994, in Nikšić, where he started his music education with the mentorship of Ljiljana Radović. He completed the undergraduate studies at the University of East Sarajevo᾽s Academy of Music, in the class of professor Dražan Kosorić.

 

During his career so far, he has recorded a large number of performances and concerts all around Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Italy, Germany, and Serbia. He is the winner of numerous awards and recognitions. A composer Dalibor Đukić dedicated the pieces "Balkan Eroico", "Duo Capriccioso", "Pastorala", and "Sensibile" to him. In May 2017, he performed with the Mostar Sinfonietta Orchestra and thus became the first accordion soloist to perform with this orchestra in the history of its existence.

 

Stefan Ćeha is the founder and director of the "Orfej" Classical Music Festival.

The Laureates of all categories will perform live at the gala concert as a part of the "Orfej" Classical Music Festival which will be held in November 2021 in East Sarajevo and Sarajevo (Bosnia and Herzegovina). One of the Laureates will be declared the Absolute Winner of the Competition, by the votes of the audience, and will receive the Trophy of the "Orfej" Classical Music Festival.

  • an online master class with Frédéric Deschamps.

IV CATEGORY

The Laureate receives:

  • a diploma;

  • a cash prize of 100 Euros;

  • a master class with Petar Marić (East Sarajevo, the 13th of November, 2021);

  • an online master class with Frédéric Deschamps.

Chamber Music

I CATEGORY

The Laureate receives:

  • a diploma;

            To meet the criteria in terms of audio and video quality, we are giving you some guidelines and instructions on how to record your performance as well as possible.

After successfully submitting the application form and paying the registration fee, you can upload videos in any supported video formats, up to 2GB in size. When uploading video material, be sure to indicate the name and surname of the competitor / name of the chamber ensemble!

Uploading is done through the website wetransfer.com.
